About This Game star ShelterStar shelter is one of the first VR games with classic survival mechanics. You're stranded in a mysterious graveyard of abandoned ships, the only way out is to repair a broken spaceship. You have to scavenge for materials and plants to repair and arm your spaceship.Keep your oxygen, power, and hunger in the green. Grow plants, build solar panels and other objects to generate what you need. Climb around the zero gravity but don't rely on your thrusters to much, they are fueled by the same oxygen you breathe. Scavenge the wreckages of spaceships and be wary of hazards.current Features: Randomly generated environments and spaceships. Use the crafting to build, arm and improve your Space station. Grow plants in your spaceship to generate oxygen and fruit. Voiced AI to guide you and keep you aware of hazards. Destructible/Repairable base, maintaining your spaceship is as important as eating. Constant updates, great developers!. I had fun tossing myself around in zero g, and the first couple times I floated around an abandoned ship, looking for resources was actually enjoyable. But when I started repeatedly seeing the same ships pop up and not even being able to scavenge without my ship getting hit by rocks repeatedly, it went from \u201cOh man, my ship got hit! I need to hurry back!\u201d to \u201cAgain? Really? Can\u2019t I get a moment to just scavenge these ships?\u201d\tIt\u2019s too easy to break even on food and oxygen even without putting much effort, and the only major goal you have is to build a shuttle to escape which involves collecting a lot of resources in a fairly boring manner. If it was a game about trying to survive by going around a bunch of ships, barely clinging on than it would be neat. Instead it\u2019s a base building game where the base building is too easy, and the method of getting resources is boring and repetitive.. needs some time in the oven. hands go crazy when I grab any interactive screen. also nice microsoft sam voices :). Great gameplay.-Active Dev thats quick to bug fix and actually listens to the players.-Cheap price for what you get.If you own a VR headset, love space and want a decent survival game there is no reason to pass this game up.. Interesting game. I just started to play it, but it looks like i like it.One think. I would like to change key binding. In Oculus there are special key for grab, in this game it is trigger. I want to change this. But i do not know how.. It took a lot to change from a negative to a positive on this because i played the older version and the release version was a night/day change and i had to relearn the whole game (which seems to have very little guides as it is).This is a very cool concept but....it's still got bugs. It's playable but yeah, bugs.The main reason i went from negative (to a positive) on this is because it seems the developers are listening and responding.The next update will let me know if they really listened.. Not alot of hours in, but so far a legit survival game that feels on point gameplay wise. Just surviving when you first start out is a big challenge and there is quite a bit of things to craft so far. Definitely not as big with content as many traditional survival games out there, but the challenging gameplay keeps the difficulty right where it is needed. For the price, I would recommend.. 34 hours of nothing but playing this game. I reached endgame just today, after realizing how much I suck at it, and then getting really good at it. TL:DR At the end.Pros: Story flows well, and PIE is the best AI companion, even if she is a little stupid sometimesEnd credits song was amazing, and I have to look into getting a copy of it for myselfEnd credits were amazing. I haven't been this excited about the ending to a game since I played COD MW2 back when it first came out.The Boss fights had me literally shaking in fear until I managed to master them (Tip: Pack extra oxygen\/power cans, and use a missile launcher)After completing the tutorial (abandoning ship) the game does not take you back into the main menu, and instead starts the game with you waking up in the very pod you evacuated the ship in. Cons: The game can sometimes be really buggy, such as my beacon disks going invisible in my inventory after successful completion of a boss fight. (If this happens to you, exit to menu and reload the save you were at)I found ways to break most of the game, such as not needing to grow a plant because the food packets refill if you keep them in physical storage and exit to menu, then reload the save.The class 1 comets would sometimes come at really inconvenient times, such as when exploring a space station, five miles away from the SS Origin.The spaceship generation got really predictable, to the point where I could tell which rooms were most likely full of radiation, without ever exploring the ship\/stationSometimes your hands can get stuck in finger pointing position, making it hard to grab onto surfaces.The game doesn't tell you, but you need to put your mask on when getting into the ship to go home, otherwise you will suffocate and get cucked out of seeing the ending.Overall: 9\/10TL:DR; minor flaws, but easy to overcome and get really immersed into.. A must have VR title. As others have said, like Subnautica, but in space. Well worth a tenner.. Great game for early access, already a lot of fun and can see it getting a lot better.
